After Kelly departed Saturday, his attorney, Steve Greenberg, who walked out with him, decried news coverage of his client and what he called "the pitchfork justice that's going on around here".

"So many people have been stealin' my money", he stated. A bond slip where people putting up money to secure an inmate's release write their names and relationship to the inmate was left blank, Smith said.

Greenberg said there is a gag order over the child support case. He has denied wrongdoing and pleaded not guilty.

The singer promised to "straighten" everything out, as one fan flirted with the singer, while another yelled out "Hallelujah" after R. Kelly spoke.

I promise you we're gonna straight all of this stuff out.

The singer, born Robert Sylvester Kelly, exited the Cook County Department of Corrections three days after being jailed for unpaid child support owed to his ex-wife.

Charlotte Russe to close all stores, liquidation sales begin
The company originally filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in early February, outlining a plan to close 94 stores. Payless ShoeSource and clothing retailer Gymboree both have followed that path to recent months.

Lawyers for the singer said that he was unable to pay the bill himself, and a representative for the Cook County Sheriff's Departent told reporters that they're unsure who did.

Kelly has walked out of a Chicago jail after a $161,000 child support payment was made on his behalf.

Last month Avenatti said he had uncovered videotape of Kelly having sex with a 14-year-old girl multiple times. He offered no details.

R. Kelly turns himself in at 1st District police headquarters in Chicago on Friday night, February 22, 2019.

Cook County sheriff's spokeswoman Sophia Ansari says Kelly will be released Saturday after someone paid $161,000 in back child support for him. And crazier yet, sources are claiming that Kelly got the influx of cash from a "benefactor" who took pity on him and helped him out.

His publicist Darryll Johnson said the singer came to the hearing prepared to pay $50,000 to $60,000, but the judge wanted the whole amount.
