No Davis trade: Pelicans coach accuses LeBron of tampering

  • LeBron James NFL owners hold'slave mentality toward players

LeBron James' recent comments about how it would be "amazing" to play with New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis have upset general managers around the National Basketball Association, according to an ESPN report.

"That would be unbelievable", James reportedly said.

And it would be.

Facing a barrage of criticism from conservatives, including President Donald Trump, the National Football League ruled in May that players had to stand during the anthem on the field, but could remain off field if they wished.

Davis is now averaging 28 points, 12.4 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game while playing his usual elite defense, but that hasn't stopped the Pelicans from finding themselves at 12th in the Western Conference standings at 15-16.

LeBron James #23 and Anthony Davis #23 of Team LeBron celebrate after winning the NBA All-Star Game 2018 at Staples Center on February 18, 2018 in Los Angeles, California. It would be a bigger story if he didn't want to play with him.

Some are anxious that James and Paul will push for the Pelicans to trade Davis to the Lakers, the report said.

"Ask me if I'd like to play with Jimmy Butler", James said.

President Urges Senate to "Go Nuclear"
The Senate was set to convene at noon EST (1700 GMT) and it remained unclear what would happen if the House measure fails there. Right now, Republicans still need at least 10 Democrats to sign off on a bill before it can be passed along to Trump's desk.

Told that some felt it was wrong for James to talk about another player under contract, James replied, "So?"

She didn't have time to get the whole question out before James said: "Absolutely!" "I got to play nearly flawless every night to give us a chance to win".

"Would you like to play with Jim-?" Go ahead, all of them. It's not rocket science.

The world's greatest player headlined the night as expected.

"It's New Orleans' problem today, and a problem with a different player tomorrow for the rest of us", one Eastern Conference general manager told ESPN. The Pelicans aren't keen on trading Davis now, but who knows what offers could come their way, and what uniform Davis might be wearing just a few months from now. People get caught up in bunches sometimes when they wish they could control what you say, and they can't control me, at all. "We all get that it's a players' league, but there are rules on the books that they need to follow, too".

There's no tampering here.

Davis seemed to do his job in Wednesday's loss with 27 points with 11 rebounds and three blocks, but like many other games this seasons, the 25-year-old superstar's impact wasn't enough for a win.

It's as simple as that.
