  • MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski apologizes for homophobic comment

She has not tweeted anything else since, and on Thursday morning her husband and co-anchor Joe Scarborough blamed a "long-planned family event" for her absence on their show.

On Wednesday, Brezinski slammed Pompeo for his repeated defense of Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, who the Central Intelligence Agency concluded ordered the torture and murder of Jamal Khashoggi, a US-based journalist who had been critical of the Saudis' repressive monarchy.

Grenell, who is openly gay, also urged Brzezinski to apologize more directly.

Brzezinski was addressing Pompeo's response to the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

In that interview, Pompeo, a former director of the Central Intelligence Agency, refuted reports on the CIA's assessment on the killing of Saudi columnist Jamal Khashoggi.

When another Fox host brought up the damning Central Intelligence Agency report, Pompeo replied, "Reporting that you have seen on that has been inaccurate".

Huawei executive 'was taken to hospital' after extradition arrest
A spokesman for Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland told AFP on Saturday that Ottawa had no further comment on the case . Scott Filer of the surveillance company said his company would make a citizen's arrest if she breaches bail conditions.

"So that's 'yes?' When you looked him [MBS] in the eye, did you believe him?" "But America has an important ally in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia". "But why doesn't Mike Pompeo care right now?"

"Of the pathetic deflections that we just heard when he appeared on 'Fox and Friends, ' was that a patriot speaking, or a wannabe dictator's butt boy?".

Brzezinski's audio cut out for a moment, indicating that a control room editor at MSNBC tried to take out the slur but missed the mark.

While Anderson wrote he accepted Brzezinski's apologies, dozens of other Twitter users did not think her apology was satisfactory-some even called for the Morning Joe host to be fired. I'm dead serious, I'm asking.

She said it sounded like Pompeo was carrying water for a "wanna-be dictator", using a cruder term.

The president wrote: "If it was a Conservative that said what "crazed" Mika Brzezinski stated on her show yesterday, using a certain disgusting term, that person would be banned permanently from television". I should have said "water boy". like for football teams or something like that. apologize to @SenatorDurbin too!
