"There's a smoking saw", Graham said, referring to reports from the Turkish government that said Saudi agents used a bone saw to dismember Khashoggi after he was killed in the Istanbul consulate, where he had gone to obtain paperwork enabling him to marry his fiancee.

Assiri, the former deputy head of general intelligence, often sat in during Prince Mohammed's closed-door meetings with visiting foreign dignitaries. Saudi Arabia's public prosecutor has said Asiri was the one who ordered the operation to repatriate - but not kill - Khashoggi.

"If the Saudi government is going to be in the hands of this man for a long time to come, I find it very hard to be able to do business, because I think he's insane, I think he is unsafe and he has put the relationship at risk".

A bipartisan group of Senate lawmakers has introduced a resolution condemning Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman and declaring in no uncertain terms that he is responsible for the murder of Jamal Khashoggi.

Following a private Central Intelligence Agency briefing on Tuesday, republican senator Lindsey Graham said he had "high confidence" the Saudi leader had a role in the murder and added "you have to be wilfully blind" to disagree.

"It could very well be that the crown prince had knowledge of this tragic event", Trump said in a lengthy statement November 20.

After the hearing, Senator Lindsey Graham told reporters that there is zero chance the crown prince wasn't involved.

White House contradicts Trump, says there's no deal with China
Trump tweeted: " China has agreed to reduce and remove tariffs on cars coming into China from the U.S. now the tariff is 40%". He then referred to his plan for escalating 10% duties on Chinese imports to 25%, tweeting: "Remember I am a Tariff Man ".

Sen. Rand Paul, meanwhile, went to Twitter to voice his opinion, smashing the caps lock to say "ENOUGH!" in regards to Saudi Arabia's behavior.

In one image shared by state news agency Anadolu, two-time Oscar victor Penn was seen outside the mission where the Washington Post contributor was strangled before he was cut up into pieces by a 15-man Saudi team especially sent to Istanbul for the task.

But it has strongly denied the crown prince was involved.

Erdogan maintained pressure on Riyadh this week in an interview with reporters during his visit to South America, urging the kingdom to provide further details.

On Saturday Erdogan insisted that the Saudis extradite suspects in the killing to Turkey for trial, but said the kingdom was not cooperating.

She said her office doesn't have the mandate to conduct a criminal investigation, however. They did so against the advice of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, who said US involvement in the Yemen conflict is central to the Trump administration's broader goal of containing Iranian influence in the Middle East.

Turkish media has posted many photos of Penn, with a film crew of at least 10 people outside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on Wednesday.
