Wilder v Fury: Judges scorecards shows 12th round knockdown crucial

  • Deontay Wilder left connects with Tyson Fury of England during a WBC heavyweight championship boxing match Saturday Dec. 1 2018 in Los Angeles

"We're on away soil, I got knocked down twice, but I still believe I won that fight", Fury said.

Wilder (40-0-1, 39 KOs) was making his eighth title defense.

Fury controlled proceedings and looked the superior boxer, but could still have left with nothing after Wilder knocked him over on two occasions.

Wilder, having successfully defended his title, said he hoped for a rematch, either in the United Kingdom or USA, and also extended the same gratitude to Fury for a fight that will surely live long in the memory.

Wilder landed just 71 of 430 punches thrown, or 17 per cent. I came here and I fought my heart out.

The two-weight world champion posted: "A draw, I understand (even tho I feel Fury won by a 2 or 3 rds)".

In a fight controlled in large stretches by the inimitable Fury, Wilder parlayed two knockdowns to turn a certain decision loss into a split decision draw.

"We're the two best in the world and we proved it".

Nintendo Switch Cyber Monday deals boil down to one thing: More Games
Now that Black Friday and Cyber Monday are behind us, gamers need to know - which console "won" the Thanksgiving weekend battle? Lifetime sales of Nintendo Switch , which is entering only its second holiday season, have reached more than 8.2 million units.

Find out why this boxing super-match is, at its core, a feud every pro wrestling fan can enjoy! I thought I won the fight.

Needing an incredible rally late, Wilder retained his title with a 10th-round TKO win over the challenger Ortiz.

Wilder responded with increasingly desperate flurries of big punches, very few of which found their mark.

Fury struggled to generate consistent offense until a strong sixth round, likely costing himself early rounds. A hard overhand right to the side of Fury's head dropped the Englishman for the first time in the fight.

To that end, Fury came out the next round much like he did in the seventh, landing several unanswered left hand, right hand combinations to regain the momentum he lost the previous round.

Fury went right back to work in the next two rounds, and a decision appeared to be in reach.

On the undercard, Jarrett Hurd defended his WBA and IBF 154-pound belts with a fourth-round stoppage of Jason Welborn.

Now, Tyson Fury gets his fair share of plaudits, but being compared to The Phenom, one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, has to be right up there.
