  • Copa Libertadores final postponed after Boca Jrs bus attack

Violence has erupted in Buenos Aires between supporters and police as the Copa Libertadores final was postponed when River Plate fans attacked the Boca Juniors team bus ahead of the match between Argentina two fiercest rivals.

The two clubs have a huge disdain for one another and River fans want to great lengths to disturb the visitors upon their arrival at El Monumental this evening.

The attack shattered several of the bus windows and Boca players were cut by broken glass and also suffered from smoke inhalation due to tear gas.

The South American Football Federation (CONMEBOL) initially delayed the kick-off twice, before deciding to postpone. His colleagues, even with time to recover from the effects of ingesting a toxic substance, could not possibly have been at their psychological peak for what is nearly certainly the biggest game they will ever play and the biggest game in the history of South American club football.

The away team were making their way into the Monumental Stadium when it was attacked with a relentless assault of bottles and pepper spray and it now appears as if the match could be delayed. It was finally called off at 7:20 and has been rearranged for 5 p.m. local time on Sunday.

Israeli Leaders Rebuke Airbnb for Removing Listings in West Bank Settlements
The worldwide community considers the settlements to be illegal and a key barrier to peace between Israelis and Palestinians. But after consultations, Airbnb "concluded that we should remove listings in Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank".

The match between Boca Juniors and River Plate has been postponed until Sunday at 5pm GMT, according to reports.

The two sides are competing for the title for the first time in the tournament's almost 60-year history.

"They were throwing pepper gas, stones, everything", Clarin website quoted Juan Carlos Crespi, a member of the Boca delegation, as saying.

Missiles were thrown at the bus and tear gas saw players vomiting and taken to hospital ahead of the eagerly-awaited clash between two of Argentina's greatest clubs. Had River won, Boca would surely have appealed against the result and in the circumstances, it would have been hard for anybody to concentrate on the actual game. The tie is evenly poised following an entertaining 2-2 draw in the first leg at Boca's stadium, La Bombonera, last week. On that occasion, Boca were disqualified from the competition.

The delay was announced after Boca players were hurt when their bus was attacked on its way into the stadium, organizers said.
