  • FacebookDown Users report problems with website for 2nd straight week

Facebook acknowledged their mistake and apologised to the users.

And the company confirmed the outages in an email to the news outlet.

Time spent on Instagram is also not counted, but that's understandable, seeing how they are essentially separate apps.

"Tried logging in via three different computers and 4 different browsers all with the same result", one Facebook user wrote.

Best Argos early Black Friday and Cyber Monday UK deals
Total retail spending over the Black Friday weekend is predicted to hit £8.3billion, the Centre for Retail Research said. Unsurprisingly, retailers tend to put most of their marketing efforts toward Black Friday during November.

Facebook's Messenger app is reportedly down around the world on both desktop and mobile.

Down Detector shows most outages are in the central areas and east coast of the United States and throughout Europe. "The issue has since been resolved, we are back to 100 percent for everyone and we're sorry for any inconvenience", a Facebook spokesperson told ABC News in an emailed statement.

This is the second time this month users of the platform reported the site not operating at its full potential.

Problems appear to have started just before 1pm after a brief outage early this morning.

A widespread issue hit also hit Facebook in July, with Android users in some parts of the world unable to access the social network for up to ten hours.
