Both PSG and Manchester City are cheating and should be sanctioned.

In the first allegations on Friday, French investigative website Mediapart claimed Gianni Infantino - the current Federation Internationale de Football Association president who was then UEFA's general secretary - had "directly negotiated" the agreement with City to reduce their 2014 fine.

Mourinho was asked about his view of the allegations against City, and said he suspected wrongdoing at the club. UEFA's rules are created to encourage clubs to live within their means and prevent fatcat owners, many of them with unlimited funds, from buying their way to success to the detriment of less affluent rivals.

The relationship between supporters and UEFA's flagship competition will be as strained as ever at the Etihad on Wednesday in the wake of the latest allegations about the club trying to get round UEFA'S financial fair play (FFP) regulations.

Documents leaked to Der Spiegel and other media from the Football Leaks' whistleblowing website purport to show the two clubs had inflated sponsorship revenues to meet FFP requirements.

"We certainly hope Uefa will take the right decisions and enforce Financial Fair Play rules, but we don't have full confidence that they will. But internal emails tell a different story, providing evidence of backdated contracts, illusory sponsoring payments and cavalier, "We can do what we want", business practices".

Allegations In the latest allegations to plunge City into turmoil, it is alleged a risk analysis regarding a possible deal with Arabtec was carried out by executives but that, despite the report concluding a partnership with the company would have "significant potential to damage the perception and standing of the club and its owners", the club struck an agreement regardless, signing a regional contract that would be publicised only in Arab states, Russian Federation and Turkey, where there was considered to be less risk of condemnation.

The magazine said the name "Longbow" was chosen, according to City's chief legal adviser, Simon Cliff, as it was "the weapon the English used to beat the French at Crecy and Agincourt" in the Hundred Years' War.

Vicky Kloss, a spokeswoman for City, is said to have sent an email to team executives warning against the deal.

Manchester United have gone through the agony of seeing arch-rivals Manchester City turn into a footballing superpower in the last few years.

Der Spiegel reported last week City and PSG breached FFP rules by €188 million (£164 million) and €215 million respectively in 2014, and tried to cover up the breach using vast sponsorship deals connected to their oil-rich owners that far exceeded their true market value.

Der Spiegel calls the settlements "weak" and claims Uefa "wasn't even entirely aware of the degree to which it had been deceived".

"This was a very good deal for MCFC", a PwC analyst, said, according to Der Spiegel.
