Amazon reportedly making Long Island City one of two HQ2 locations

The newspapers cited unnamed people familiar with the matter in their reports. The paper cited unknown sources. The Seattle based biz finds these areas appealing due to their thousands of Amazon employees already in place in NYC and the DC area.
Roy Cooper was asked about the report Tuesday morning.
Amazon has been tight-lipped about the process and declined to comment on the latest news.
"You could look to Seattle and see that it's had great positive consequences, but it also probably has had some unintended ones that maybe aren't as well received", SunTrust Robinson Humphrey Inc. real-estate analyst Michael Lewis said. The report centers on Long Island City in Queens and Crystal City in Arlington, specifically.
Company spokespeople reached by CBS News refused to comment on the stories.
Cooper also deflected questions about the status of tech giant Apple's planned expansion from its Silicon Valley headquarters to Research Triangle Park.
"The driving force behind the decision to build two equal offices in addition to the company's headquarters in Seattle is recruiting enough tech talent, according to the person familiar with the company's plans", the Journal said.
It also could mean that other businesses would want to be located here.
