With the Southeast the only region not projected to have above-normal temperatures, that could mean a few winter storms will bring snow to the Deep South, which can cause major disruption to the region.

For the rest of the country this winter, no place in the United States is expected to be colder than normal, said Mike Halpert, deputy director of the governments Climate Prediction Center.

In the valley of the Tennessee, the OH valley and mid-Atlantic States (NJ, NY, MD and PA), the temperature will be or on the secondary level or above.

The likelihood of El Nino, meteorologists say, 70-75%.

Because of the uncertainty in seasonal prediction, NOAA's winter outlook is probabilistic in nature, meaning that a range of outcomes is possible in any area. States from the Pacific Northwest through the Northern Plains and into the Northeast are likely to have above-average temperatures, the NOAA reported.

No parts of the country are due to see a colder-than-normal winter.

Warmer-than-normal conditions are anticipated across much of the northern and western US, with the greatest likelihood in Alaska and from the Pacific Northwest to the Northern Plains.

Precipitation is expected to be above normal across the southern tier of the USA, extending up into the Mid-Atlantic. Northern Florida and southern Georgia have the greatest odds for above-average precipitation during the winter, the NOAA said. Portions of the Northern Rockies and the Northern Plains are also likely to experience drier-than-average conditions.

Drought conditions may worsen in much of Southern and Central California, although the north coast of California may see some relief, according to NOAA. But in case you need some talking down, a new forecast from NOAA says that at the very least, it won't be a nightmare this year. "We stand by our forecast and formula, which accurately predicted the many storms last winter, as well as this summer's steamy, hot conditions", editor Peter Geiger wrote.

Keep your eyes peeled for the next NOAA update on November 15.

From December to February the temperature is above average (for this period) is expected in the Western, southeastern, Central and northwestern States, as well as in Hawaii and even in Alaska.
