  • Trump, amid outcry over missing Saudi journalist, praises GOP congressman for body slamming reporter - Los Ang

President Trump blasted Democrat Senator Jon Tester for the second day in a row -this time calling him out for hypocrisy.

Earlier this year, Biden, who is considering a 2020 presidential bid, said he would have "beat the hell" out of Trump when they were younger.

Not the case, because he made a point of praising Greg Gianforte, the Congress member from Montana, for violently attacking reporter Ben Jacobs in May of past year. The president reminded his supporters of the incident during his rally in Montana on Thursday.

"And then I said, well, wait a minute".

He recalled hearing the story when he was overseas and admitted that at first, he anxious that Gianforte might lose the election.

"And I said 'Oh, this is awful. he's going to lose the election, '" Trump said before adding, "Then I said 'Well, wait a minute".

Trump's remarks come as new evidence supporting the theory that the US-based Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi was brutally killed in a Saudi Consulate in Turkey.

Trump calls Stormy Daniels ‘Horseface,’ cheers judge’s dismissal of defamation suit
The amount Ms Daniels will have to pay Mr Trump has not yet been decided, Charles Harder, the president's lawyer, said. The defamation claim is separate from another lawsuit that Daniels filed against Trump, which is continuing.

Mr Gianforte pleaded guilty to a misdemeanour assault charge in June 2017 and said in an apology letter that he alone was responsible for the attack. "He's my guy", Trump declared, doing his best impression of a wrestling move to raucous applause and cheers from his Montana audience.

He paid a $385 fine and completed 40 hours of community service and 20 hours of anger management counselling.

Trump celebrated Rep. Greg Gianforte's (R-Mont.) May 2017 attack on Guardian journalist Ben Jacobs during a rally in Missoula, Montana, on Thursday.

Mr Gianforte, who attended the rally with the President, is up for re-election in November and faces former state legislator Kathleen Williams.

His remarks come amid furore over fate of journalist Jamal Khashoggi who is presumed to be murdered.

In a statement on the Guardian's website, John Mulholland, the newspaper's US editor, said "to celebrate an attack on a journalist who was simply doing his job is an attack on the First Amendment by someone who has taken an oath to defend it".
