Sitting alongside Poland's President Andrzej Duda, Trump says "certainly it's something we will discuss".

Duda suggested building a permanent USA base in Poland and said he would name it "Fort Trump".

Polish President Andrzej Duda told reporters after meeting with Trump at the White House on Tuesday that he quickly dubbed the base "Fort Trump", an obvious appeal to the businessman turned US president who has hotels, condos and golf courses around the globe named after himself.

"I am convinced there is no more effective method of preventing a war than a decisive stance illustrating that we are ready at any moment to repel possible attack", Duda said. Poland would like a larger and permanent presence.

And the White House reinforced that judgment, saying a partnership between the USA and Poland "is critical in light of growing security challenges characterized by aggressive Russian behavior".

"Looking at it from the standpoint of military protection": US President Donald Trump said.

U.S. President Donald Trump speaks next to first lady Melania Trump during a meeting with Poland's President Andrzej Duda (L) in the Oval Office of the White House in Washington, U.S., September 18, 2018.

Duda credited Trump for making Warsaw the first stop on the USA president's inaugural European trip a year ago and said Trump's outdoor address in Poland was a "very important moment" for the relationship between the two countries. Duda said Russian Federation could use supplies for "political blackmail", while Trump suggested it was "very unfortunate" that Germany would would be sending "billions and billions of dollars a year" to Russian Federation to pay for fuel.

Trump, who looked annoyed at times by Duda's long answers, jumped in at one point to note that Poland has promised to pay "billions of dollars for a base". I think that Russian has acted aggressively.

Kavanaugh's prep school pal: Ford's wrong, I was never at party
There is a hearing scheduled for Monday although Ford has asked the FBI to investigate Kavanaugh before she testifies. Almost 600 women who attended the school have written a letter of support for Ford , published on Tuesday.

There were some chuckles in the East Room of the White House when Duda pitched the idea.

Mr Trump, who seemed enticed by the offer, said he deemed the security of Poland "almost as important" to him as it is to the Polish president.

Russian Federation isn't the only one opposed to the idea.

The push by Poland comes amid historic rival Russia's increased military activity.

Such arguments haven't deterred Poland.

The Polish Supreme Court also asked the ECJ to rule on the new law.

Poland was suspended Monday from the European Network of Councils for the Judiciary and faced a hearing over alleged breaches of EU requirements for judicial independence.

Warsaw was the first stop on Trump's first European tour past year. "And we have the greatest strength in the world, especially now".
