"These masterpieces will continue to inspire all of us".

SpaceX has announced the identity of its first passenger to fly on its forthcoming BFR spacecraft, headed around the moon in 2023. He has accused, without proof, one of the cave divers who participated in the rescue of a Thai youth football team of being a paedophile.

A total of 24 NASA astronauts - all white men - voyaged to the Moon during the Apollo era of the 1960s and '70s.

Before revealing Maezawa's mission to the Moon, Musk gave a heartfelt introduction as to why SpaceX exists in the first place.

Musk said the BFR is still in development and will make several unmanned test launches before it takes on passengers. The outpost would serve as a stepping-off point for the lunar surface, Mars and points beyond.

During a news conference at SpaceX headquarters in Hawthorne, California, company founder and CEO Elon Musk introduced Maezawa as the first passenger on the new BFR (sometimes short for "Big Falcon Rocket") rocket-spaceship duo now under construction, and confirmed that Maezawa would ride in a loop around the moon.

"He's paying a very significant amount of money", Musk said.

Who will fly with the mystery passenger is among the many questions that Musk is likely to address during the announcement.

Davids warns Juventus, Barcelona: Pogba unconvincing
On Wednesday, Pogba further fueled rumors of his leaving when he said: "Who knows what will happen in the next few months". Pogba is now away on France duty and should feature in the Nations League clash with Netherlands in Paris on Sunday.

Yusaku Maezawa said his heart was already racing just thinking about the trip.

By comparison, the Falcon Heavy is 70m tall and consists of a central rocket core surrounded by two boosters, each with a diameter of 3.66m.

The response tweet sent Musk's fanbase into a myriad of speculations. The BFR is central to SpaceX's plans of eventually putting people on Mars for the first time, but first of all, they need to prove that the thing actually works. The moon trip would last four to five days, he said.

The company is still developing the BFR rocket, which will be the successor to SpaceX's oft-used Falcon 9 rocket and its upgraded version, the Falcon Heavy.

Per the Verge, Musk also showed off another revision to the BFR, stating that the new design would have seven instead of six large Raptor engines, boast additional cargo room on the rocket's bottom, and have three instead of two rear fins as well as front actuator fins. SpaceX, which is under contract by NASA to fly its astronauts to the International Space Station, recently announced it had to delay that first flight to April of next year. "But we're going to do everything humanly possible to bring it to flight as fast as we can and as safely as we can".

Russian and Chinese companies are also working on space tourism plans.

SpaceX announced it had reached an agreement to launch the tourist into space last Friday via Twitter.
