South Carolina's Emergency Management Division said although it was too early to tell if the storm would have any impact on the state, it's advising coastal residents to start making contingency plans. The storm was centered about 905 miles east-southeast of Bermuda and moving west at 8 mph. The storm is moving west at 9 miles per hour. The environment over the next few days was expected to support some further intensification.

Tropical Depression Nine is expected to become Tropical Storm Isaac late Saturday. It is forecast to move due west and is scheduled to reach the Caribbean Islands, possibly including those ravaged past year, on Wednesday or Thursday as well.

As Florence moves west, the wind shear will decrease, allowing Florence to become more organized and intensify.

“It may take the cyclone some time to gather itself once the shear abates, but once it becomes vertically stacked again, the intensity is likely to increase significantly.”.

Florence's path remained uncertain on Saturday, with some models showing a direct hit on the United States in several days and others suggesting it could still veer north without making landfall. This will accelerate the hurricane toward the middle of the U.S. East Coast. Portions of the east coast could see rip currents this weekend.

Tropical Storm Gordon brings hurricane watch to Gulf Coast
Activity in the Atlantic Ocean and Carribean is becoming very active as the peak of hurricane season is upon us. Wind gusts of 48 mph were recorded in Fort Lauderdale, 49 mph in Pembroke Pines, and 51 mph in Opa-locka.

Two low pressure systems off the coast of Africa behind Florence also had high chances of developing into tropical storms, forecasters said.

Maximum sustained winds are near 45 miles per hour (75 kilometres per hour) with higher gusts. After passing those islands, it is expected to turn out to sea.

Please consult your local National Weather Service office at weather.gov for the latest information on any tropical or storms or hurricanes that could be a threat to your area.

"Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 140 miles (220 km) from the center". Keep monitoring Daily Voice for updates.

Tropical Depression 9 is located in the Atlantic Ocean and is moving westward.

It is too early to determine what, if any, impacts this system will have on the Caribbean.
