Lukaku at the double as United ease pressure on Mourinho

Jose Mourinho was in better spirits after the 2-0 win over Burnley and even joked that sacking him would cost Manchester United a lot of money.

The Frenchman has been linked with a move to Barcelona, and the Catalan giants are ready to make the mega move for him when the January 2019 transfer window opens.

But things have gone awry at Old Trafford of late - not that Matic, a Premier League victor under the Portuguese at Chelsea, has not seen any difference in Mourinho's persona this season.

Martial and Shaw have had mixed fortunes at United during Mourinho's time in charge but the latter appears to have turned a corner after some promising displays in the club's early matches this season.

Only a second-half penalty miss from Paul Pogba, and Marcus Rashford's sending off shortly after, prevented United from producing the margin of victory its dominant performance merited.

Asked whether United can afford any further slip-ups considering the gap, Matic said: "Of course, but they (United's rivals) also have to win all games, and I think that's impossible".

Nadal 'bagelled' but survives Thiem test to reach semis
Thiem was a straight sets victor over fifth-seed Kevin Anderson to set up a repeat of French Open final, where Nadal triumphed. Moving head-to-head in the thrilling clash, the tie-breaker in the decisive set seemed to be the fitting end of the match.

"And then, when the player doesn't get what he wants, he starts to create unrest at the football club to try to get his own way".

Suarez, in his defence, did continue: "Pogba's an elite player who's won everything".

"The important (thing) is to know the quality and always I believe when you get (to) that level in the Premier League, all the managers are here because they are top, top managers". Manchester United and the Spanish tax agency both declined to comment.

"They have given me the platform to play at the World Cup, so I feel I owe them".

According to reports in Italy, the north London club tried to sign the 21-year-old on deadline day but failed with a £36m bid.

Chris Smalling believes that Manchester United have always been soft targets for critics whenever there are any minor lapses.
