Johnson's case was the first to go to trial because doctors said he was near death.

"Today's decision does not change the fact that more than 800 scientific studies and reviews - and conclusions by the US Environmental Protection Agency, the US National Institute of Health and regulatory authorities around the world including Australia - support the fact that glyphosate does not cause cancer, and did not cause Mr Johnson's cancer", the statement said. Glyphosate has a more than 40-year history of safe use. He said the Environmental Working Group is an activist group. According to studies conducted by the Environmental Working Group, a US-based public health organisation, 43 out of 45 oat-derived products sampled were found to have significant levels of the glyphosate, the active compound in all weedkillers. In 2017, California listed glyphosate in its Proposition 65 registry of chemicals known to cause cancer. Greenpeace urged the Australian government to start restricting the sale of Roundup - which is widely available in supermarkets and hardware stores - after a Californian court found it caused the cancer of a terminally ill man.

Startling headlines about a weed killer in children's cereal and snack bars are swamping social media and scaring parents this week.

"The draft human health risk assessment concludes that glyphosate is not likely to be carcinogenic to humans". They pointed out that the evidence definitively linking the glyphosate in Roundup to cancer is scant.

The EPA and the Food and Drug Administration say they are studying the current guidance for safe levels of glyphosate in food.

Turkish President calls for iPhone boycott
In retaliation on Wednesday, Turkey said it was imposing taxes of ranging from 50 to 140% on rice, alcohol and cars from the U.S. The dispute between the USA and Turkey has started an economic crisis in Turkey that has pushed its currency to historic lows.

Kellogg also responded, saying, "Our food is safe.(EPA) sets strict standards for safe levels of these agricultural residues and the ingredients we purchase from suppliers for our foods fall under these limits". In the USA, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) labeled glyphosate a carcinogen in 1985, but reversed its position in 1991. "But we very much doubt our petition will be acted upon by President Trump's lawless EPA". Our view is that the government standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency pose real health risks to Americans - particularly children, who are more sensitive to the effects of toxic chemicals than adults.

A study released this weeks said many oat-based, kid-consumed breakfast cereals including Lucky Charms, Cheerios and Quaker Oats have an unsafe levels of glyphosate.

We expect better from General Mills and Quaker Oats, and we will continue to urge consumers to express their preference with their pocketbooks.

"Australian farmers can continue to use glyphosate in accordance with the instructions of the label, knowing it is safe to do so". "Any levels of glyphosate that may remain are significantly below any limits of the safety standards set by the EPA and the European Commission as safe for human consumption".

The lab work and analysis by the E-W-G shows trace amounts of glyphosate in a number of products, including Cheerios and Quaker Oats granola bars. "And essentially we're just throwing it at them".
