Donald Trump hits back at LeBron James over CNN interview

  • Donald Trump takes shot at LeBron James

The interview Trump was referring to occurred Tuesday night, when the Los Angeles Lakers superstar joined Lemon on CNN Tonight in a taped interview to discuss the opening of the I PROMISE school for at-risk 3rd and 4th-graders in his hometown of Akron, Ohio. "I would sit across from Barack though".

James did not hold back on his thoughts about Trump during his interview with Lemon.

Others have pointed out that Trump's tweet, by comparing James to "Mike" - that is, Michael Jordan - had racial overtones.

Why Lebron James is accusing President Donald Trump of dividing people across the United States.

He has repeatedly said that anyone who kneels during the anthem should be fired.

Trump is traveling to OH on Saturday for a campaign rally. The President ended his tweet with the seemingly unrelated exclamation of "I like Mike!" At one point during their sit-down interview, Lemon asked James about the president, and LeBron essentially said he wouldn't keep company with Trump.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request to clarify Trump's remarks.

Some say it's just Trump being Trump.

Republican Senator Rand Paul supports Trump’s Supreme Court nominee
Bush White House, probably in the hopes of finding incriminating information that could derail his Supreme Court nomination. Paul cited concerns over "privacy" and "the Fourth Amendment" as being the basis for hesitating to back Kavanaugh.

Sharing pictures of local children attending the I Promise School to Twitter, he wrote: "Let's get it kids!"

James publicly supported Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton before the 2016 election and called Trump a "bum" in September 2017, after the president rescinded an invitation to the Golden State Warriors to visit the White House after winning the National Basketball Association title.

"Sports have never been something that divides people", James told Lemon.

As was noted on Twitter Saturday morning, Lemon and James are two successful and respected African-American men who have risen in their respective careers.

James backed Democrat Hillary Clinton during the 2016 U.S. presidential election. I know why. Some of y'all need to start believing what he is showing you.

There was also this exceedingly spicy take from CNN PR.

"Sounds like [first lady Melania Trump] had the remote last night", the network tweeted.

Ohio Gov. Josh Kasich, a Republican who at times criticizes Trump, tweeted: "Rather than criticizing KingJames, we should be celebrating him for his charity work and efforts to help kids".
