Collusion not a crime? Not exactly the point

  • President Donald Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani is seen here speaking to CNN on July 30

In the tweets, Trump largely resurfaced previous issues he has with the investigation, claiming Mueller personally has conflicts of interest - including a "contentious business relationship" - that should preclude him from running the investigation, accusing Mueller of bringing on too many Democratic investigators, and making a false claim about the origin of the Russian Federation investigation.

The man heading Trump's re-election campaign, Brad Parscale, has in recent months called on Trump to fire Sessions and end the Mueller probe. So, either the former Mayor of NY city is intentionally creating confusion by making seemingly contradictory statements from those of President Trump every week, or he's every bit as much of a goofball as he's portrayed himself to be in recent months.

"He used the word 'should, ' he didn't use the word 'must'".

Trump's tweet came hours before the start of a trial brought on by the special counsel against Paul Manafort, Trump's former campaign chairman, who is charged with 18 violations of tax and banking laws related to his foreign lobbying work.

GIULIANI on Fox News on Monday: "I have been sitting here looking in the federal code trying to find collusion as a crime.Collusion is not a crime".

U.S. President Donald Trump has lashed out at Robert Mueller, the Special Counsel probing Russia's alleged interference in the 2016 presidential election. Trump also accused Mueller of bringing on too many Democratic investigators, and the President made a false claim about the origin of the Russian Federation investigation.

Trump's latest tweets come just days after he launched a separate Twitter attack against Mueller and the Russian Federation investigation.

Pompeo to do damage control for Trump's stance on Russia
Host Stephanie Ruhle said in response to Maddow's accusations against the White House that "we ALL deserve better than THIS". Trump has noted a range of topics he discussed with Putin, including Ukraine, but given no details of the talks.

"You've forfeited your law license, as far as I'm concerned", Giuliani said.

Giuliani said that he believes they managed to "shut it down" and help kill the story, and speculated the journalists had also found other reasons not to run the item.

Giuliani said he thinks Mueller wants to conclude his now 14-month probe by sometime in September, enough time before the nationwide congressional elections on November 6, "so they can say they didn't interfere in the elections". He said the President doesn't have to support his own tweet's claim because it's Mueller's "conflict", not Trump's.

Durbin added that the country has to wait for Mueller's investigation to be completed to know for sure. I say that to attack the legitimacy of the investigation, ' Giuliani said.

He appeared to be referencing a dispute over golf fees at Trump's Virginia golf club that was reported in the New York Times.

He further revealed that he had a "conflict of interest" with Mueller, adding that the two had a "nasty business relationship" and that he had turned him down as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director. The president has previously raised questions regarding what he has alleged as conflicts of interest among Mueller's team dating back to as early as July 2017. Trump has also asserted he didn't know about the meeting. "Then something happens. (Former Trump personal attorney Michael Cohen) gets raided".
