Missing woman found alive after vehicle plunges off California's Big Sur

A missing OR woman has been found alive after somehow surviving driving her jeep off a cliff in Northern California's scenic Big Sur.
Angela Hernandez was driving from Portland to Lancaster, near Los Angeles, to visit her sister Isabel when she saw on animal on the road and swerved to avoid it, sending her auto plummeting 200ft off a Big Sur cliff on July 6.
The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office handed the investigation off to the Monterey County Sheriff's Office on Thursday after surveillance video from a business showed Hernandez traveling south on Highway 1 into Monterey County.
The 23-year-old had been driving from Portland to Southern California to visit her sister and was reported missing by her family on July 6 when they stopped hearing from her. She was transported by ambulance to a waiting helicopter, then to the hospital.
Hernandez was driving from OR to her sister's home in southern California when she went missing, officials said.
She stayed alive "by drinking water from the radiator of her vehicle", according to the Highway Patrol.

Ms Hernandez told investigators she had swerved to avoid an animal when she was driving along California's Highway 1, and plunged over the cliff edge.
"My sister is alive, she's talking, and she's still trying to come to understand everything", Isabel Hernandez wrote on Facebook on Saturday. It's not going to be an easy recovery.
"It's usually the fall that gets them, or the ocean that gets them, and she was lucky to survive both", said Thornburg.
Isabel Hernandez set up a GoFundMe to help with her sister's medical costs and buy her a new vehicle, which had reached $3,470 of its $6,000 goal by Sunday morning. "She was found by two people walking in the area, who called 911".
