English bulldog from Minnesota wins World's Ugliest Dog title

But all dogs are not attractive dogs (on the outside, at least).

For almost 30 years, the World's Ugliest Dog (r) Contest has been a testament that the pedigree does not define the pet. Dogs of all breeds and sizes have warmed our hearts and filled our lives with unconditional love.

The dog's owner, Megan Brainard, found the dog through a pet-finding site and she has now won $1,500 for Zsa Zsa's win.

To refer to it by its full name, that's the "Sonoma-Marin Fair World's Ugliest Dog Contest".

Brainard drove 30 hours with her family from Anoka, Minnesota, to enter her dog in the competition.

Martha was nearly blind when she came into Shirley's care, but has since undergone a number of operations and now has a pretty sweet life with her new owner.

Ms Brainard will now receive $1,500 for Zsa Zsa's win. A 9-year-old English bulldog was named the victor of the 2018 World's Ugliest Dog contest in the San Francisco Bay Area. The victor takes home $1,500.

"She's just so ugly, she's lovely", Ms Brainard told the New York Times.

Last year a three-year old Neopolitan Mastiff named Martha took the crown. But you can take a stroll down memory lane right here if you'd like to treasure her 125 pounds of sagging skin folds and love all over again.
