Tiger lurks at Memorial

  • 19-year-old from Chile besting big names at the Memorial

Bryson DeChambeau was almost flawless, signing for a 6-under 66 that included six birdies, four of them on the final five holes, to finish at 14-under-par 202 and hold a one-shot lead after three rounds of play in The Memorial Tournament, played under warm conditions at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio.

Woods, a five-time victor at the OH event at Muirfield Village, now sits at 11-under-par but is losing ground on Patrick Cantlay, who has taken sole possession of the lead at 17 under through seven holes.

Chilean 19-year-old Niemann birdied three of his final five holes, including the last, for a four-under 68 while American Stanley had eight birdies in a 66, leaving them two strokes clear of South Korean An Byeong-hun (67).

With the course soft and vulnerable to low scores, it was tough to leave shots on the course.

It took a stellar 67 to get him there, but Tiger Woods enters the weekend in contention at the 2018 Memorial Tournament, though he sits six shots back of the co-leaders ahead of Round 3 on Saturday.

Tiger Woods managed a five-under 67, which included an eagle at the par-five 11th. He was six behind.

Woods made Muirfield Village sound like a rock concert until storms arrived.

He punctuated his blistering run by holing his 136-yard second shot at the par-four 17th for an eagle two. Woods said "I played really, really well". In the opening round of the British Open three years ago, he made birdie on his first four holes and went out in 29, making him the fourth player at St. Andrews with a 29 on the front nine. Watson said. "I said, well, I had to play the last two shots ideal to make up for your mistake off the tee".

Ubisoft confirms Assassin's Creed Odyssey for E3 2018
The clip shows what seems to be a Spartan-looking character kicking another solider off a cliff; an homage to Frank Miller's 300. While Origins was a departure from the series' roots, Odyssey will apparently push it even further into RPG territory.

"I missed a lot of short putts, which is, you know, something I don't normally do, which is just frustrating", he said. I played beautifully, actually. Woods said, "I had total control what I was doing out there but I just couldn't finish it off".

Ariya had 10 holes left, and she picked up two birdies and one bogey to card a two-under-par 70 at Shoal Creek.

Woods was second to last in the key putting statistic among the 73 players who went all four rounds. And then he stalled, just like he did on Friday. And the weather is about par for Muirfield Village, with more thunderstorms expected Sunday. "But I'm in a position where if I shoot another good round like I had the last two days, I've got a chance".

"The weather is going to be a little iffy", Woods said.

Rory McIlroy, remarkably, has reason to feel the same way. The final round will be threesomes teeing off earlier than usual to account for the forecast.

McIlroy almost missed the cut, surviving on the number after two days.

Overall this year on the PGA Tour, Woods ranks 4th in SG: Approach the green, 5th in SG: Tee to green and 10th in overall Strokes Gained. McIlroy missed three birdie chances inside 8 feet.

The noise was so loud many of Woods fellow competitors, including World No 1 Justin Thomas, simply stopped play. No one likes ending a round with a bogey, and even par at least kept him within seven shots of Hideki Matsuyama, Abraham Ancer and Joaquin Niemann.
