Giuliani: Trump couldn't be indicted even if he shot Comey

  • Trump blames FBI for his hiring of campaign manager now indicted for 'conspiracy against U.S.'

Giuliani previously said that the U.S. Constitution gives Trump the ability to bestow a pardon on himself, but said he doesn't have any intention of using that power.

"It could lead to impeachment", Giuliani said, referring to the idea of Trump pardoning himself.

Rudy Giuliani believes President Donald Trump probably has the power to pardon himself.

Giuliani said last month that he wanted any interview of Trump to be limited in scope and length, suggesting it to be only 2-1/2 hours and not under oath.

"I actually think he's probably right", Samuel Morison, a lawyer who formerly worked in the Justice Department's Office of the Pardon Attorney, told the New York Post.

Mueller is also looking into whether Trump unlawfully sought to obstruct the Russian Federation investigation. I hope you can let this go"-but contends that Mueller can't ask Trump about the conversation because "t$3 he White House denied and refuted that the President said these words to Mr. Comey".

Laywer Elura Nanos, writing for Law & Crime, said a pardon would be "too much for" Trump's presidency to bear.

In the letter penned by Trump lawyers John Dowd and Jay Sekulow, it was argued that President has the power to "order the termination of an investigation by the Justice Department or FBI at any time and for any reason".

Microsoft could be on the verge of buying GitHub
In August, GitHub announced that it was looking for a CEO to replace Chris Wanstrath, one of the company's co-founders. While details of the deal are now unknown, it is believed that the official announcement could come later today.

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie agreed on Sunday, telling "This Week" that there is "no way" Trump will pardon himself. The attorneys asserted that Mueller's team had "an ample record upon which to base your findings of no obstruction", and thus there was no need for the president to talk with investigators. It's a hypothetical point, " Giuliani said.

"The bottom line is that there is no valid answer to the question, 'Can Trump pardon himself?' other than, 'He could try,"' Kalt told The Post. The President has never said he would pardon himself.

In an email, Harvard Law School Professor Laurence Tribe, a frequent critic of Trump, called the letter "flatly wrong legally and indefensible constitutionally".

He has requested an interview with the president over obstruction of justice.

Giuliani also confirmed that Trump still wants to testify to Mueller, but his legal team has advised him not to do so.

Whether Trump may pardon himself is a matter of some debate. "So, come on, man up and make your decision".

On ABC, Giuliani also said that the president's recollections about a statement he made concerning a June 9, 2016 meeting between top Trump campaign aides and a delegation of Russians offering to provide "dirt" on rival Hillary Clinton "keep changing". "I'm not billing by the hour, otherwise I could tell you exactly", he joked about the case he has taken on for free. The roots of that probe have been under intense scrutiny, after recent revelations that the FBI used at least one spy to infiltrate Trump's campaign well before the investigation officially started.
