Ubisoft took to Twitter to tease the next instalment in its popular game franchise, Assassin's Creed - and it looks like it'll see players venture into ancient Greece. As the teaser states, we can expect more information at E3. It's also worth remembering that Ubisoft has multiple teams working on games, so the extra year that Origins afforded that team, allowed this one to be in development for a year longer as well. What impact the aforementioned (and still only rumoured) dialogue choices will have on the overarching narrative in Assassin's Creed Odyssey is now unknown, but we can expect to learn a whole lot more during Ubisoft's E3 presser in Los Angeles on Monday 11th June. Sources confirmed to Kotaku that this next entry in the franchise will take place in ancient Greece and that it will released before the end of Ubisoft's fiscal year 2019, which ends March 31 of next year. An announcement now, with a full reveal at E3, leads neatly into a holiday-2018 release window. While Origins was a departure from the series' roots, Odyssey will apparently push it even further into RPG territory.
Last year's Assassin's Creed: Origins was a surprise hit for Ubisoft. Odyssey could release this fall, though Ubisoft could potentially release it early in 2019, thus avoiding the Fall rush of titles.
