  • New Jersey cops tackle mother Emily Weinman for drinking

Police bodycam footage of a woman who was punched in the head by an officer on a beach in the USA shows she was told "you're about to get dropped" and slammed to the ground after refusing to tell him her surname.

New Jersey's Wildwood Police Department released bodycam footage on Wednesday showing the violent arrest of 20-year-old Emily Weinman, who officers accused of underage drinking over Memorial Day weekend. Cell phone video on social media captured an officer striking her in the head with a closed fist during the course of the arrest. "You're about to get dropped", one of them tells Weinman; she appears to push one of the officers and then the video cuts to the officer beating Weinman.

It should be noted that the breathalyzer came out negative after Weinman was instructed to take the test by officers.

Weinman is facing several charges including aggravated assault on a police officer, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. In the meantime, the officers involved in the incident have been reassigned to administrative duty.

After the officer re-activates his camera, the second video starts with Weinman debating with police.

"Get off of me, don't pull my hair, what are you doing?"

Warriors beat Cavs in overtime in Game 1
Of course, Game 1 was a classic, perhaps throwing salt on the theory people are bored with these two teams playing each other. Golden State's Stephen Curry scored 29 points as Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson scored 26 and 24 points respectively.

Weinman is then seen spitting in the general direction of the officers. As an officer places handcuffs on her, she can be seen in the video spitting at him. The struggle ensues, with her limbs flailing and her cursing at the officers as one gets her in a chokehold and punches her hard at least twice to her head. Emily says she was with her aunt, her boyfriend and 18 month old daughter. "Again, until I interview the officer, I won't have that answer if that's what he was trying to do".

Weinman's attorney, Stephen Dicht, said the officers had no justification for using that much force.

"Don't f--ing touch me", Weinman says.

When Weinman refuses to give the officer her last name, the situation escalates. If they were going to cite her, they should have said, 'We're issuing you a citation for whatever.' This is why they need your name.

Mayor Ernie Troiano Jr. had previously said the videos would likely "vindicate" the officers. "I wasn't there. I don't know".

"It's just a shame that all she had to do was comply", Troiano said. "I was partly wrong in a way but I was scared". She argues that the alcohol isn't opened, but one of the officers tell her that because the bottle is visible, she can be charged for an "open display".
