  • Roseanne Barr blames Ambien for tweet; drug maker replies

"There was only thing to do here", Iger wrote, "and that was the right thing".

Trump did not directly comment on the controversy or on ABC's decision, instead saying ABC and Disney CEO Bob Iger have never apologized for what the president said were "HORRIBLE statements" made about him on the network. "And then if her insane tweets came out, she could point to that and say, 'But I have taken a step back'". Earlier Wednesday, she attempted to explain that, "I'm not a racist, just an idiot who made a bad joke".

If Trump was a female sitcom star, he would look and act just like Rosanne Barr, just taller and more orange, so don't be surprised if he reboots Roseanne as his next Communications Director.

On Rosanne Barr's twitter feed, bringing back a sitcom starring a loose cannon known for firing off racist tweets, insane conspiracy theories and grabbing her crotch and spitting while butchering the National Anthem, made no sense. Barr's supporters are urging her to fight back. She also got her show cancelled over it, so idiot probably applies nicely as well.

"Valerie Jarrett is someone who has a lot of dignity and class, and for her to be on the receiving end of such an unwarranted attack seemed completely from left field", said Hyeok Kim, former Seattle Deputy Mayor.

Roseanne Barr Blames Ambien for Tweet That Got Her Show Canceled
Gilbert called Barr's comments "abhorrent" and said she was "disappointed in her actions to say the least". In the tweet Barr said Jarrett was "a cross between the Muslim Brotherhood and the " Planet of the Apes ".

On Wednesday, Barr said that it was tweeting under the influence of the prescription sleep aid Ambien that led her to post a racist remark. The initial tweet outraged fans and as well as her own castmates. In response to accusations that Barack Obama's former White House advisor, Valerie Jarrett (who was born in Iran to African-American parents), was hiding administration secrets, Barr said that Jarrett is a product of the Muslim Brotherhood and The Planet of the Apes. She reposted a tweet by Sara Gilbert, the actress who played her daughter, Darlene, on the show and served as executive producer.

Barr also has a history of controversial statements that have been roundly criticized as racist, bigoted, or pushing conspiracy theories.

Iger and Jarrett did not immediately respond to requests for comment about Trump's tweet.

Barr originally said she did something "unforgivable", "egregious" and "indefensible", before suggesting the tweets were a result of taking sleeping pills.

United States president Donald Trump has weighed in on the Roseanne Barr debate.
