Sanofi, the maker of Ambien, responded with a statement full of shade: "While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication".

In other tweets, Barr said that she was exhausted of "being attacked and belittled more than other comedians who have said worse" and asked for people not to boycott ABC, saying that the network has the right to "do what they wish".

Although Roseanne's TV show reboot had been a ratings success for ABC this year, the network showed no hesitation in canceling the program over her "repugnant" comment. "I'm exhausted of being attacked & belittled more than other comedians who have said worse", Barr wrote, without specifying which comedians she was referring to.

She also reposted tweets by many supporters, including one message that strongly criticized ABC executive Channing Dungey.

"I'm anxious about all the people out there who don't have a circle of friends and followers who came to their defense", Jarrett said at the town hall.

She had said on Tuesday that she was leaving Twitter, but she just can't seem to log off.

In her initial response to that tweet, Barr said, "Wow! unreal". "Forgive me - my joke was in bad taste".

"I wrote on the original "Roseanne" where we used to denounce nativism, racism & homophobia". In the post, Barr compiled a list of "direct attacks" she alleged that the Obama White House had made on the Bill of Rights, which she said included "contriving false flag terror attacks to remove the 2nd amendment (Boston Marathon; case in point)".

Carlo Cottarelli, the 'Mr Scissors' technocrat who could become Italy's PM
After the president blocked Mr Savona's appointment, Five Star leader Luigi Di Maio called on parliament to impeach the president. Early in the European session, the euro, Italy's government debt and its FTSE MIB stock index all rose in opening trades.

Barr lashed back early Wednesday, replying, "i created the platform for that inclusivity and you know it. ME".

The comment sparked an immediate backlash and led to ABC nixing the show's upcoming second revival season, which had already been picked up for 13 episodes and was set to begin production in August.

"The president is focused on North Korea".

She reiterated this soon after when a follower criticized Gilbert, saying: 'She's distancing herself from me and my tweet-she has to'.

And she said she thinks the reason ABC pulled the plug was a threatened boycott by advertisers.

Barr apologized for the tweet, describing it as "a bad joke".

"Maybe I just didn't get the call?" he asked.

Streaming service Hulu and other cable networks have removed Roseanne reruns, and Barr was also dropped by her talent agency.
